Over the years CHP has been involved with many different project types including ecclesiastical architecture. We have been privileged to work with a number of different church congregations and building committees with the goal of providing cost effective and meaningful solutions for growing space and program needs. An innovative approach is often required when incorporating and adding additional space to existing facilities to ensure that the overall floor plan works as a whole. Complex building code issues are reviewed and solved early on in the design process and care is taken to plan construction phases in a way that helps to keep disruptions to ongoing programs to a minimum.
Aesthetically, CHP strives to provide inspiring architecture that reacts with building program requirements but also responds to the individual needs and tenets of each particular denomination and congregation. Design objectives such as providing truth in materials and expressive and natural lighting help to establish both comfort and inspiration in the final building that is intended to assist in providing a worshipful experience.
