Harrison Hot Springs Beachfront Redevelopment

    Over the past 6 months CHPA, along with the Village of Harrison Hot Springs Beach, Facilities, Parks and Trails Committee have been working feverishly to develop a Plaza and Beachfront Redevelopment concept with the residents of Harrison Hot Springs.

    Part of this process consisted of 3 “Town Hall” meetings, where the residents were given the opportunity to get some hands on input into the design of their new beachfront.

    At the first meeting the objective was to get the resident’s input as to the optimal location of large facilities and features. Some items were immediately apparent and others were less clear.

    The second Town Hall meeting consisted of further developments as a result of input distilled from the first meeting. Once again, an open theatre presentation was held and the community was brought into the design struggle. Various comments and concerns as well as public approval allowed us to further develop a more structured plan.

    At the third and final Town Hall meeting we presented our finished master concept and phasing plan as well as a more detailed plan of the first 3 phases to be completed. The discussion was lively as community members again were able to voice their concerns and solutions.

    In conjunction with the Beach, Facilities, Parks and Trails Committee and various other consultants, CHPA will begin to develop the first 3 phases into a completely finished design package, which includes, for example: material selection, seating, lighting, grading, and planting.
