Central Park

In 2002 Craven/Huston/Powers Architects were approached by The Rotary Club of Chilliwack to provide design services for the club’s Rotary Centenary Project. As the project evolved it became a partnership between, the City of Chilliwack, RCMP, Downtown Chilliwack Business Improvement Area, Chilliwack School District and The Rotary Club of Chilliwack. CHPA provided guidance to a many-faceted client working through a variety of design concepts that culminated in the Chilliwack Central Community Park which was opening in October of 2006. The park from inception was christened with a theme of heritage/culture, arts and education.

The park with a budget of $1,600,000.00 includes a public washroom, interactive water park, outdoor performance area, interpretative and commemorative recognition of Chilliwack’s first Courthouse as well as a student/parent drop-off for the adjacent elementary school.
