Computers have allowed Architects as designers to convey our ideas and designs in a much easier, cost effective and beneficial way than ever before. Computer models allow us to generate drawings for contractors and renderings for clients simultaneously, seamlessly switching from traditional architectural plans, elevations and sections to 3D renderings. In the past an artist would sit at a drawing table and spend days to produce a single rendering. However, the style and personal touch of that rendering would never be matched by today's computer models which can generate many different renderings with near photo-realistic quality in a matter of hours.
As the Building Information Model (BIM) for the school is generated, we can simply export images at any time, for any location in the building and with any view we would like, whether Traditional, Architectural or Rendering. It also gives us the ability to share data with our design team, while the computer can highlight coordination issues and changes made by other technicians.
The following is a sample of images generated by the computers in our office.
