CHPA has been involved in the construction of new commercial/retail facilities,  as well as renovation and adaptive re-use of existing facilities.  Exposure to new commercial/retail commissions includes professional offices, medical clinics, restaurants and commercial/retail buildings. Each of these commissions is marked by a commitment to creating a lasting facility that is both accessible and inviting, while providing the necessary visual environment for commercial enterprise. Buildings are durable and designed using cost effective detailing and construction methods.

The work of Craven/Huston/Powers Architects has included renovation of older and dated commercial strip malls, providing updated and modernized facilities that cater to the contemporary commercial/retail marketplace.

The firm has considerable passion for adaptive re-use projects that give new life to older buildings while retaining vestiges of local history. The offices of CHPA are housed in a late modernist Firehall previously slated for demolition. Through careful planning new life is given to a community landmark.
