Craven/Huston/Powers Architects receives prestigious award from CEFPI
At the recent Council of Education Facility Planners International Conference (CEFPI) Craven/Huston/Powers Architects was awarded the 'Project of Distinction Award' for Abbotsford Middle School. Abbotsford Middle School, completed in 2007. is a 600 capacity new middle school replacement for the Abbotsford Junior High School.
A key generating architectural idea was the establishment of a school within a school ‘pod concept’ where students are grouped in areas according to grade. Elective and common spaces will act as an adjunct to these pods.
